From the Secretary General…
Dear Prospective Delegates,
YLSBC MUN since its dawn has aimed to arm delegates with the experience and skills needed to be able to combat the brutality of the modern society. 2025 is a special year, as it will be the year that YLSBC opens another MUN since Covid-19. As the Secretary General, I am proud to announce, in line with the Secretariat team, some ground-sweeping news, and that is we are hosting 2 committees this year, with 2 modern day topics that will allow all of you to witness the complexity of the new millennium’s dawn.
Delegates will first-hand be in control of the decisions that is necessary to foster peace, brainstorming ideas that will lead to the rise and fall of alliances and empires, but will also dive into the mysterious realm of subversive activities in times of conflict. DISEC will aim to solve the issue of automated weapons in the battlefield of Ukraine and Russia, and the UNSC will try to ease tensions within the East China Sea, specifically between China and Taiwan.
We, along with the Board of Directors fully believe and encourage delegates to step out of their comfort zone this iteration and pursue something that hasn’t been pursued before, as every action one takes only will benefit oneself. This action could be speaking, writing, collaboration, or research, but not limited to these few. If any questions arise, please feel free to contact me at ylsbcmun-secgen@ylsbc.org. I look forward to seeing you this April!
Remember, every argument not spoken is a resolution lost and unwritten
Regards,
Jinyu Chen
